History of Menaye Charity organisation

The Menaye Charity Organisation was founded by Menaye Donkor after she won the title of Miss Universe Ghana 2004. It had always been her dream to give back to society and make her community a better place for the less fortunate.

That same year, she adopted the Menaye School of Hope (formerly known as Menaye International School), focusing on education as a major solution to poverty eradication. Since then, education has remained at the heart of MCO’s mission.

girl-child development

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Menaye Donkor Muntari donated 2,000 pieces of “Sincerely by Menaye” sanitary pads to head porters (kayayei) in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.

MCO has also contributed to the “End Period Poverty” campaign by providing 1,000 free sanitary pads and promoting menstrual hygiene in underprivileged communities.

The Menaye School of Hope

Founded on 7th September 2000 in Agona Asafo (Central Region of Ghana), the Menaye School of Hope was adopted by Menaye Donkor in 2004 after her Miss Universe Ghana win. The original school lacked basic necessities, and Menaye stepped in to build a safe, supportive learning environment.

What began with 78 pupils in a single block has grown into a thriving school of nearly 400 children and three blocks since Menaye took over in 2004. Today, students not only excel in their BECE examinations but also benefit from modern, well-equipped learning facilities.
